Great hoteliers across the world know what it takes to manage a legendary property. One of them, Marc-Olivier Raffray, is about to join the “palace of the kings”, a.k.a. the “king of palaces”, The Ritz Paris.

Marc Raffray joins The Ritz Paris

The Ritz Paris welcomes Marc Raffray

Born in England, Marc has a long history of excellence and expertise in hospitality, but it’s fair to say that he really only entered the world of true luxury when he joined the Four Seasons Hotel George V in 2005. This is where two years later he would be offered the position of Hotel Manager.

In 2014, Marc became the General Manager at another legendary property, the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues, with a history dating back to 1834 and an unrivaled location right on the shores of Lake Geneva, and he handled the responsibility admirably. This led the Four Seasons to offer him the position of General Manager at another hotel, the Four Seasons Resort at Anahita, out on the exotic island of Mauritius.

But the largest feather in his cap was yet to come. When the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts looked for a GM to reopen their Paris property, the legendary Hôtel de Crillon, they turned to Marc, and it was very difficult for him to decline such an opportunity. So he packed his life again, and moved back to the City of Light.

On August 19, Marc became the new General Manager of The Ritz Paris. Another prestigious address, and probably one of the absolute best in the world of luxury hotels, we can’t wait to see what he makes of this legend, where again, ownership spared no energy and resource to ascend the hotel to the very top.

The Windsor Suite at the Ritz Paris sure is fit for royalty

The Ritz has also always been a very popular destination for Grand Luxury club members. It’s not easy to understand why, but we’d be willing to think it has a lot to do with walking in the footsteps of Marcel Proust, Coco Chanel and the Duchess of Windsor, all at once, and there is nothing quite like it.
