If there ever was a hotel made for gastronomes and spa aficionados in mind, L’Albereta, would be it.

This 19th century estate overlooking the Franciacorta vineyards in Lombardy, is known for the rejuvenating properties of its Espace Chenot Spa. Founded by French Naturopath Henri Chenot, the spa preaches a philosophy of Chinese medicine, fasting, and science to leave you feeling like a younger and fresher version of yourself.  If that’s not your cup of tea, you can always fall back on the resort’s other specialties, excellent locally produced wine and the flavorsome Italian cuisine served at its main restaurant, the Leone Felice. Add to that, the excellent service, and gorgeous countryside vistas, and you’ve got one of the best rural wellness retreats Italy has to offer.

Atmosphere and activities

How gems like the L’Albereta exist only an hour’s drive from busy Milan is a mystery.

Once you drive through the hills of Franciacorta and arrive at the hotel’s ivy-covered facade, it’s another world. And, if you’d gladly swap designer stores and landmarks for a spa robe and soothing massages, it’s arguably a better one.

Waking up to these views is a balm for the soul

There’s a feel good factor to the place helped on by crackling firesides, and strategically placed corner sofas you’ll love to sink into with a good book in hand. Painstaking efforts have gone into preserving this 19th century family estate, and the surrounding pastoral landscapes give the L’Albereta an old world charm that’ll have you feeling at home within minutes.

The real draw of the hotel, however, is its Spa and the dream team of therapists, beauticians, osteopaths, and doctors who work there. Whether you’re checking-in to turn back the years, relax or be cured, the Espace Chenot Spa is the pit stop you never knew you needed. Pair your rejuvenation sessions with daily walks on the wild tracks surrounding the area, and we guarantee you’ll return home feeling like a better version of yourself.

The L’Albereta has only 38 rooms to call its own, ideal if you’re checking-in for some well needed quiet time. Each of the rooms is individually designed and offers something unique, whether it’s a view of the nearby Iseo Lake, the vineyard, or hydro-massage tubs in the bathroom. The ultimate indulgence is the Cabriolet Suite with its push-of-a-button sliding roof that lets you sleep under the stars, and the panoramic views of Lake Iseo from its balcony.

Marrakech is the reason travellers come to Morocco, but beyond the obvious allure of the Red City, on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, is the laid-back and almost mythical Essaouira. The relaxed atmosphere of this coastal town has captured the hearts of artists like Jimmy Hendrix and Bob Marley, and their port of call when in town was Heure Bleue Palais.

A Riad built right into the wall of the medina, this hotel is one of the most beautiful in Morocco, close to the town’s souks and only a few minutes from the beach. There’s plenty here to tempt travellers to spend a few nights within the gorgeous walls of Heure Bleue Palais.

Atmosphere and Amenities

Once the private residence of the Pasha of Mogador, the elegant and colonial Heure Bleue Palais is no ordinary Moroccan destination. Built in the 19th-century, and integrated into the town’s medina, it is an accommodation of palatial proportions, offering colonial grandeur and refined comforts in an artful balance.

A verdant courtyard lies at the heart of the hotel, weaving luxury in every detail, from the stone arches and palm trees around to the flower-filled fountain at the center. In the evening, the enclosed garden is lit up by candlelight, transforming it into a magical sight to behold.

This nostalgic charm carries through to the rooftop terrace and pool, overlooking the ancient fortress city. Standing here, listen to the whisper of serenity and let go of the cares of the world. The same blissful state of being awaits you at the hotel’s traditional spa and hammam, an oriental land of wellbeing.

A stay here would be incomplete without a purifying wrap with rhassoul or a black soap and eucalyptus massage. After a relaxing trip to the spa, let Chef Ahmed Handour indulge you in a hearty Moroccan fare; the hotel proudly serves its own wine label, produced at the nearby Domaine du Val d’Argan vineyard.

The Rooms

Guest rooms at Heure Bleue Palais are distributed on four levels and, like most authentic Oriental buildings, they open on the central courtyard. It’s here, amongst the palm trees, that you are served Moroccan sweet treats upon arrival.

Room categories work their way up from classic rooms to premium suites, each decorated in a mélange of Arabic, African and European styles. Upgrade to a suite on the hotel’s second and third floors for a fireplace in your room and a deep-soaking tub.

It’s a place you’ll never want to leave, with an enticing Mediterranean atmosphere punctuated by contemporary nuances.

Verdura Resort is also an exceptionally family-friendly hotel with several facilities dedicated to young guests. As you sunbathe on the beach, a specialized team and hedgehog mascot are here to keep your little ones entertained with video games, arts and crafts and a heated pool.

With a choice of four restaurants, managed by Michelin Chef Fulvio Pierangelini, Verdura Resort is also an ideal accommodation for gourmet stays. Whether you choose an authentic Mediterranean food experience at La Zagra or a more informal alfresco meal at the beachfront Amare, you can’t go wrong.

Located in the heart of the resort, occupying four buildings, is the Verdura Spa, one of the best in Europe. Treat yourself to a holistic body treatment or take a dip in one of the Thalassotherapy pools before unwinding at the sauna or hammam for the ultimate wellness experience.

The Room

There are just over 200 rooms at Verdura Resort, all with terraces or balconies opening to breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. Designed by Olga Polizzi in a contemporary Sicilian style, each room features a four-poster bed, a spacious bathroom and luxurious amenities for the ultimate indulgent experience.

From your room, walk to the wild sand beach and enjoy the private coastline with a sunbed, an umbrella and your favorite drink from the bar. Upgrade to a suite to enjoy complimentary breakfast and VIP amenities, while the Presidential Suite has a wraparound terrace with a private pool and jacuzzi.

  1. Room upgrade subject to availability

  2. American breakfast for two people daily

  3. 100 USD food and beverage credit

Pulling up to a Four Seasons hotel anywhere in the world gives a great sense of arrival, but at their flagship property in Toronto, the brand exceeds expectations with an awe-inspiring glass tower looking over elegant Yorkville.

Modern, luxurious and chic, this is Four Seasons like you’ve never experienced it before- the place to be in the city.

Atmosphere and Amenities

A scene-stealing skyscraper in the heart of Toronto’s glamourous shopping and restaurant quarter, Four Seasons Hotel Toronto sets the tone for an incredible stay from the moment you arrive at the circular driveway. Instead of walking into a glitzy lobby, you enter what feels like the foyer of a private residence. The design of the hotel is timeless, set up in a way that, as you navigate the spaces, you make new discoveries around every corner, from cozy lounges to delicate flower arrangements and enormous dandelion sculptures. Throughout the hotel, there are artworks by Canadian artists, creating curated spaces with a particularly Canadian feel.

The sprawling spa, on the hotel’s 9th floor, is a destination in its own right. It is the largest in the city, and possibly the best, with 17 treatment rooms, a yoga studio, a panoramic outdoor deck and unique wellness offerings. While you’re there, take a dip in the skylit indoor relaxation pool, the perfect way to start or end a spa day.

Four Seasons Toronto also has two full-service restaurants- Chic Café Bouludheaded by Michelin-star chef Daniel Boulud, and the more informal dbar at street level. If you can handle the calories, Café Boulud’s outrageous molten chocolate cake is unbelievable, while dbar, popular with businesspeople and local socialites, is known for its inventive cocktails and alfresco dining experience.

The Rooms

Rooms and suites at Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, washed in soothing colors and spread over 21 floors, are beyond comfortable and among the largest in the city. Floor-to-ceiling windows afford city views and plenty of natural daylight, even on rainy days.

Every detail has been carefully thought out to make you feel relaxed and at home, from noise insulation to a minibar that forgoes bland to include interesting treats.

A freestanding, deep-soaking tub and other nice amenities like a sectional sofa and a TV embedded in the bathroom mirror are available from the most basic, entry-level Superior Room, while suites on the upper floors offer unobstructed city views and ultimate comfort in residential-style quarters.
