Attention all whisky lovers! SoHo London has just been graced by the Glenmorangie Unseen pop-up bar from March 13-14 and 16-21 and it’s an absolute treasure trove.
The Scottish distillers have opened up on Bateman street to give Londoners the chance to sample some creative whisky based cocktails that really showcase the flavors of their fine whisky. And, if you were just about to cry out “blasphemy” at that last sentence, keep calm and enjoy the unadulterated greatness of their single malts by the dram.
If you’ve already sampled a Glenmorangie with some friends you might just be tempted to pass up on this one. That’s fine, but be ready to live with the fact that you’ve missed out on a rare opportunity because there’s much more to the pop-up bar than their standard (yet exceptional) range. If you want to sample some of the company’s limited editions and collectors items, then grab a cab for Bateman’s right now!
A dedicated section of the bar called the vault will stock bottles from the company’s prestige range including the 18 and 25 year old versions of the Signet and a bottle of the rare Glenmorangie 1963 of which only 50 exist in the world. The rarest malts from the vault however, are The Pride 1978 and the Glenmorangie 1970’s series.
The Pride 1978 is a rare find that has undergone a 34-year distillation process and will set you back 3,900 GBP… good things come to those who wait I suppose.
The holy grail however, is the rare Glenmorangie 1970’s series, of which only 10 bottles exist in the world. If you would like to put one of these fine malts in your decanter, get ready to be set back 25,000 GBP.
The vault offers tutored sampling of its prestige selection, and will be proposing a choice of chocolates and cheese to go with the single malts so that you can get the full experience of the flavors that these expert distillers have to offer.
If you’ve thoroughly enjoyed the pop-up bar and the flurry of other attractions in Soho, why not avoid the trek home and spend the night in one of these great hotels, only a stone’s throw from all the sights and sounds.
